Draw together. Explore together.
Sketch Day @ the Getty is a casual group drawing walk through selected areas of the Getty Center. This is not a formal class — the focus is on creating a fun, welcoming space to draw, observe, and explore together.
Join us for a group sketching walk through the Getty Museum. The event will consist of walking through selected areas of the museum and making stops where participants will have time to draw from observation.
At each selected area, participants will draw for a limited 20-minute session. After each session, the group will regroup and move together to the next room or area.
Sketch Day is about slowing down inside the museum, spending time with the work, and making quick drawings in community. Bring a sketchbook, find a view, and let the space guide the session.
Bring a small sketchbook, meet the group, and move through the space together. Each stop is timed so everyone has a chance to draw without overthinking it.

Move together to selected rooms or areas.
Sketch for 20 minutes at each selected stop.
Gather after each session before moving on.
Take a 30-minute lunch break between sessions.
The final date will be selected after the Doodle poll. The time window is planned to give the group enough time to arrive, sketch, take a short lunch break, and wrap up together.
This event is designed for simple observation drawing. Bring compact supplies that are easy to carry and easy to use inside a museum setting.
Meeting point: Arrival Plaza, near the tram exit at the top of the hill. Cell service may be spotty, especially in the parking structure, so please arrive on time and contact Edgar directly if you are lost or need updates.
Get Inspired
The Doodle poll is also a soft RSVP so we can estimate attendance. Please select every date that works for you between May 19 and May 29, 2026, Tuesday–Friday only.
